Sport's Day 2019
Ahane NS Sport's Day 2019 was held on June 21st. All pupils participated in a range of activities including basketball,penalty shots, bean bag and hoola hoop activities, dodge ball, obstacle course and many more.

The School's hurling team played in the final in the Gaelic Grounds on June 10th. This was a very evenly contested match with Ahane NS losing out by one point on the final whistle.
The Camogie team played a very strong first half and were up two goals at half time. However it was a match of two halves with the opposition dominating in the second half and Ahane NS finishing as runners up.
Ahane NS has been awarded a 5 Star GAA Centre award in recognition of the school’s level of participation in GAA activities. The GAA 5 Star Initiative aims to support and recognise Primary Schools that provide pupils with 60 minutes of moderate to vigorous Gaelic Games activities per week in a manner that ensures the children will experience fun,friendship,fairness and ultimately improve their fitness.
Ahane NS Boys hurling team and Girls Camogie team have qualified for the finals in their group competitions The finals will be held in the Gaelic Grounds on June 10th. All support welcome.
A large group of children from all classes throughout the school took part in the Great Limerick Run on May 4th.
Congratulations to Ciara Slattery Wright who was selected on the East Limerick Camogie team.
Congratulations also to Emma Cross who was on the Primary Games Football team. Emma played at half time in the Limerick - Tipperary match in Semple Stadium on May 11th.
Congratulations to 6th Class pupil Darren Collopy who captained the Limerick East Hurling team to victory in the Mackey Cup final.
Congratulations also to the management team and the selectors including Mr. Pa Ryan, 5th Class teacher in Ahane N.S.
The Girls 7 a side Football team received their medals at a medal presentation in the School Hall. The medals were presented by members of the Ahane Senior Camogie Team who won the County Final. We were delighted to welcome past pupils of Ahane NS and players on the Senior Camogie team to the school with their accolades to present the medals to the members of our successful team.
A total of five teams received medals for their successes in the Limerick Cross Country Finals.The boys under 8 team finished 2nd, the girls under 9s finished 2nd, the boys under 9 finished 3rd, the girls under 10s finished 1st and the girls under 12 finished 3rd. Well Done to all participants.
Ahane N.S. girls football team qualified for the final of this competition which was held in the Gaelic Grounds on 21st October. The girls gave a great performance in the final and emerged as delighted winners.
