Mr. O'Shea retires after 40 years service in Ahane National School.

Mr. Micheál O'Shea retired from the staff of Ahane National School on September 30th 2022. Mr. O'Shea's final day started with a special breakfast in the staffroom. 

Mr. O'Shea's teaching career in Ahane began in 1982. His time in Ahane was celebrated in drama and song. Class teacher Trish O'Connor wrote a short drama to reflect Mr. O'Shea's time in the school. This drama was acted out by Sixth Class pupils. Memories of Mr. O'Shea's time were reflected in video clips to mark the four decades and to put his time in the context of the history of Ireland and the world. The video clips were compilied by Ms. Normile and Mr. O'Connor. Mr. O'Shea was presented with a framed Ahane Jersey, a hurley made by class teacher Pa Ryan, a holiday voucher and a Graduation bag from Sixth Class.The Retirement Celebration concluded with a song composed by Ms. O'Connor to reflect Mr. O'Shea's time in the School.
