Hurling Skills

To get us all moving, our school worked alongside Ahane GAA club to improve our hurling skills. Thanks to our teachers and the GAA club they got a hurling coach on board to commit to come in every Thursday to work with our school. It was decided that junior infants through to second class would have the first block of lessons and after Easter third through to sixth would get a chance to develop their skills. Each class got a 40 minute session with the coach where they learnt how to hold the hurley properly as well as rising, striking and soloing  the ball. All the children are really enjoying the sessions so far and the older children are looking forward to putting their skills in to practice in the up coming hurling and camogie blitz.
